Pour 4 cups chicken broth in a soup pot and warm with medium high heat. Take approx one lb of asparagus, discard tough ends and put the rest in the pot to a boil. Boil until asparagus gets tender, maybe 10-15 minutes. Turn off heat. In small batches, blend soup in Vita-mix until smooth. Return soup to soup pot, turn heat on low. Add 2 cups milk of choice (I used organic skim). Stir until well mixed. Add salt and pepper to taste, garnish with cheese if your diet allows.
